volunteer in our art gallery

It takes community to build community.

Because we are staffed by all part-time employees, and funds are limited, we are ALWAYS glad to have help from volunteers from the community.  Whether you're a student who needs to complete service hours or you just want to help your art community thrive, we welcome the support. A few key volunteer jobs we need help with:

  • Gallery sitting on weekends
  • Help install or de-install a show
  • Keeping our many closets and storage areas tidy and organized
  • Organizing and/or hosting fundraisers or events

Did you know you can intern @ The CVA?

The CVA can only offer unpaid internships at this time, but if you're ready to beef up your resume or gain some practical real-world art gallery skills, we write a heck of a recommendation letter if you serve us well!  If making money for your time is essential, many college students can speak with their school's work-study program to see if they qualify for a work-study position at The CVA.  As of early 2021, internships can be remote or in-person based on the intern's preference.

As an intern with CVA, you will work with staff to develop a program that speaks to your skills and interests while giving you the chance to learn new skills and familiarize yourself with the inner workings of a community-based art non-profit. A few ways interns have helped us and gained experience include:

  • Learned how to hang an exhibition and what all goes into putting on a show to the public.
  • Built relationships with artists and the art community
  • Dreamed up creative programming to engage the community in the arts
  • Promoted CVA's events and offerings on social media

To intern at The CVA Gallery, please send a letter of interest with a current CV/resume to gallery@greensboroart.org.

The CVA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our Federal Tax ID# is 56-6083717.
