We are so excited to get started with our February watercolor class. Unfortunately, our Greensboro roads aren’t quite ready for us yet.

While the main roads are mostly clear, many neighborhood side streets are still icy after dark. We know how eager everyone is to get out and about (we are too!), but with safety in mind, we’ve decided to cancel our first watercolor class tomorrow, February 4th.

Our makeup date will be the first Wednesday in March, and we’re looking forward to seeing you next week, Wednesday, February 11, for our first class together.

In the meantime, I want to remind you that whether you’re a complete beginner or a more seasoned painter, you are in exactly the right place. We’ll cover foundational basics, and I’ll also offer plenty of options and guidance for those who want to stretch and experiment more. I teach to all levels, so you’ll be able to meet yourself exactly where you are and grow from there.

Supplies to Bring to our class

Here’s the list of supplies you’ll need for class. You can purchase these anywhere you like. (The links below are Amazon affiliate links, and you can also find paper and brushes locally at Jerry’s Art-o-Rama in Greensboro — basically the Costco of art supplies.)

Arches 140lb cold press watercolor paper 9x12

Watercolor Brush Round 6, Optional a round 2 and a round 12

Watercolor Paints: This is my favorite travel set

(we will provide palette's at the CVA but if you want to bring your own i like this one) Palette for Mixing (a ceramic plate would work but I like the butcher tray best)
Painter's Scotch Tape for taping your reference photo or making borders on your paper.

Optional (but Helpful!) Videos Before Class

If you’d like to get a little preview before we meet, I’ve created two short videos on my blog that you might enjoy watching:

Totally optional — but they can help you feel more comfortable and ready to jump in on night one.

Mostly, just come as you are, bring your supplies, and be ready to play with paint. I’m really looking forward to creating with you and seeing what you make over these next few weeks.

See you Wednesday February 11th

Take Care,
-Alisha
