after-school + GCS holidays

Parents and caregivers need help, and kids will have more fun with us!

Students in grades K-5 love our Art in the Afternoon after-school art-based childcare program, and the same energy abounds at our spring break and teacher in-service day sessions. If you're a working parent (or your child just loves the arts!), we will fill your child's day with creativity and fun. Check the calendar listings below for more details about our after-school program and sessions we're planning for spring break and other Guilford County Schools holidays/teacher in-service days. Art in the Afternoon: An Arts-Based After-School Program

Art in the Afternoon is back.  We are SO excited to welcome back our friends in Kindergarten through 5th grades for afternoons filled with art and fun!  Here is what you need to know:

As of September 1, 2021, ALL Kindergarten and First Grade spots are FILLED.  We have a very small number of 2nd-5th grade spots remaining. If you wish to be added to a waiting list for Kindergarten or 1st grade OR to register for a 2nd-5th grade spot, please email create@mycvagreensboro.org.  Spaces will be filled in the order registrations are received.

    • Registration is open to all students in Kindergarten through 5th grade for school year 2021-2022.
    • The program runs 5 days per week, Monday through Friday.
    • Monthly tuition is $280.
    • A snack is provided each afternoon.
    • Students who arrive by 3:30 p.m. will be given the opportunity to work on homework or have "free create" time.  At least 1 hour of art instruction is provided each day, as well as outdoor time (weather-permitting), and structured play time.
    • Students will be divided into two age groups.
    • Curriculum includes a wide range of artistic media, art history, and technique.
    • Transportation is available to TESG students by the school.
    • Transportation is available to Guilford County Schools students through the GCS transportation office.  We are on the Lindley Elementary bus route, and magnet schools will bus students to the Cultural Center as well.  Our staff will meet all students outside at the bus stop on Davie St.  CVA is not able to offer transportation at this time.  It is the parents' responsibility to coordinate transportation with the GCS transportation office or secure private transportation.
    • Pick-up time is no later than 6 p.m.

    Questions? Email create@mycvagreensboro.org.

A $35 non-refundable registration fee plus pro-rated monthly tuition in the is due when you register.   Space is limited.
