    How to submit your work to CVA online gallery:

    • Artists who are current Members PLUS of the CVA may exhibit up to 10 pieces of art in the online gallery store.
    • Each work must be for sale (note that CVA takes 40% commission of each sale).
    • All 10 artworks MUST NOT be apart of other shows and available to ship in 5 days.
    • Artists must be able to deliver artwork to the gallery within 5 days after sale, or arrange an alternative with the CVA. CVA will deliver or ship the artwork to the buyer. The artist will be responsible for properly and safely packaging the work for shipping, if shipping is required.

    Information needed from artists:

    Images

    • Photographs of artwork should be clear, high resolution photographs with plain white backgrounds or no background
    • 300 dpi resolution, 8"x8" in jpg or jpeg format
    • Label images (artist name_artwork title_price)
    • Artists can submit one full image and up to 3 additional images of details of an individual piece, if applicable.

    Submit to the gallery in a Microsoft Word or PDF document using the registration form for this event.

    Images of artwork should accompany the artwork information so we know what information goes with what artwork.

    Looking for a Fun and Creative Birthday Party?

    CVA offers themed birthday parties in our 4th-floor art studios, perfect for your little artist! We provide all the materials and instruction, ensuring that your child and their friends create original artwork to take home as meaningful party favors.

    Our parties include:

    • Price - $300 for up to 8 participants; $25 for each additional guest (maximum of 15).
    • Duration - 2 hours of fun—approximately 1 hour for art-making and 1 hour for food and gifts.
    • Experienced Instructor - all necessary art supplies, a CVA shirt for the guest of honor, and a printable PDF invitation.

    What to Bring - Food, decorations (no helium-filled balloons, please), plates, napkins, utensils, and candles (if using).

    Parking - Conveniently park in the Church St. parking deck adjacent to the Greensboro Cultural Center—it's free on weekends! If there's a paid event at the Tanger Center, we’ll provide a parking pass for your guests.

    Art in the Afternoon: An Arts-Based After-School Program

    We are already preparing Art in the Afternoon for the 2025-2026 school and we are SO excited to welcome new and returning friends in Kindergarten through 5th grades for afternoons filled with art and fun!  Here is what you need to know:

    When registration opens, space will be limited- Once the limit is reached, you may be added to the waiting list by clicking on "Register."  You will be given the option to add your information.  We will contact you via email and/or telephone if a space becomes available.  Spaces will be filled in the order registrations are received. 

    • Registration for current Art in the Afternoon students will open in April.
    • Registration will open to the general public for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade for school year 2025-2026 beginning  June 2, 2025.
    • The program runs 5 days per week, Monday through Friday.  At this time we are not able to offer part-time enrollment.
    • Annual tuition is $3,250  This fee covers the entire school year.  Parents may choose to pay in one lump sum or may enroll in our auto-pay option to pay in 10 equal installments of $325 each.  
    • A snack is provided each afternoon.
    • Students who arrive by 3:30 p.m. will be given the opportunity to work on homework or have "free create" time.  At least 1 hour of art instruction is provided each day, as well as outdoor time (weather-permitting), and structured play time.
    • Students will be divided by age groups.
    • Curriculum includes a wide range of artistic media, art history, and technique.
    • Transportation is available to TESG students by the school.
    • Transportation is available to Guilford County Schools students through the GCS transportation office.  We are on the Lindley Elementary bus route, and magnet schools will bus students to the Cultural Center as well.  Our staff will meet all students outside at the bus stop on Davie St.  
    • CVA is not able to offer transportation at this time.  It is the parents' responsibility to coordinate transportation with the GCS transportation office or secure private transportation.  GCS typically requires at least 2 weeks to add students to a bus route. 
    • Pick-up time is no later than 6 p.m.
    • Scholarships may be available.  Please complete a scholarship application to be considered.

    Art in the Afternoon: An Arts-Based After-School Program

    We are excited to welcome new and returning friends in kindergarten through 5th grades for the 2025-2026 school year! Here’s what you need to know:

    Program Schedule

    • Program Dates: Monday, August 25 – Wednesday, June 10

    • Operating Days & Hours: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

    • Enrollment: Full-time only; part-time enrollment is not available

    • Teacher Workdays: Open on all Guilford County Schools (GCS) teacher workdays from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

      • CVA offers Artventures enrichment on these days at a discounted rate for AITA families

    • Weather Closures: May follow GCS decisions during inclement weather; CVA will evaluate safety and update families as early as possible

    • Holiday Closures: Closed on all GCS calendar holidays

    Registration Details:

    • Current Students: Registration opens in April.
    • General Public: Registration opens on June 2, 2025, for students in kindergarten through 5th grade in the 2025-2026 school year.

    Digital Design with Photoshop – High School 

    A project-based course for high school students covering professional image retouching, graphic design, and photo manipulation.  Focuses on creativity, storytelling, and real-world applications like social media content and portfolios. No prior experience needed.

    MacBooks will be provided.  Students will need an email address for access to Adobe.  If the student does not have an email address, a parent email address can be used. 

    About the instructor: Clorinda Vido, aka Chloe, is an artist and teacher from Beaufort, South Carolina. She studied Studio Art and Art History at the College of Charleston and went on to earn her MFA in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design. For the past 11 years, she has loved teaching art in the Piedmont Triad and is currently sharing her passion with students at Hairston Middle School, as well as through classes at the Center for Visual Arts and some weekend classes at Reconsidered Goods. Chloe enjoys working in almost all art mediums. But loves working in Photoshop, colored pencils, sculpture, photography, and acrylic painting. She is always excited to inspire creativity and encourage students to explore new ways of making art.

    Creative Design with Photoshop – Middle School 

    A hands-on introduction to Adobe Photoshop for middle schoolers. Students will learn photo editing, digital art creation, text effects, and layer/brush techniques through fun projects like posters, collages, and memes. No prior experience needed.

    Bring your light to the surface—one sequin at a time.

    In this six-week journey, you’ll be introduced to the vibrant world of Art Drapoinspired sequin work through intentional, meditative stitching and structured creative practice. During our first session, you’ll receive a complete materials kit (fabric, frame, sequins, beads, threads, and tools) and choose from one of several pre-designed 10x10 patterns—each created to follow a shared sequin technique path while offering unique visual designs.

    Each week builds upon foundational techniques while leaving space for individual expression and intuitive flow. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance, creative troubleshooting, and energy-centered check-ins, including short meditations and uplifting spiritual encouragement woven into our creative time together.

    Talavera Tiles: Hand-Painted Tile Workshop

    Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Mexican Talavera in this colorful, hands-on pottery painting workshop. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll enjoy decorating stoneware ceramic tiles using underglaze painting techniques.


    Inspired by the bold and beautiful Talavera style, the class offers guidance on layering and blending underglazes to achieve rich colors and crisp lines. You’ll have the option to follow traditional Talavera patterns or create your own unique designs.

    All materials—including tiles, tools, and paints—are provided. After the workshop, your tile will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup as a finished decorative piece, perfect for use as a trivet, wall art, or a handmade gift.

     Art Around the World – Monthly Homeschool Group 

    For Ages 6–12 | First Monday of Each Month | Starting September 8 

    Embark on a creative journey across continents with our Art Around the World homeschool group! Held on the first Monday of each month, this engaging series introduces students to the art, culture, and traditions of a different country or region through hands-on projects and storytelling. 

    Each session includes two themed art activities that encourage exploration, imagination, and cultural appreciation. Students will work with a variety of materials—from clay and paint to paper and beads—while learning about global customs and artistic styles.

    • Cultural Exploration: Learn about the history and significance of traditional art forms. 

    • Creative Projects: Make masks, sculptures, paintings, and more inspired by global traditions.

    • Surfboard Design: Decorate surfboard templates with beach-inspired art. 

    • Aboriginal Dot Art: Use Q-tips and earth-toned paints to create dot-style animal and boomerang art.

    A Tax Workshop with "The Tax Scout", Janet Ecklebarger

    This workshop is geared to help individuals, small business owners, and all types of creative professionals make sense of their tax returns. The goal is to be a resource for artists, to be helpful and reassuring, to listen to their questions and ease their anxieties, and to give them more time for the work they love!

    Janet Ecklebarger earned her Master’s degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1992. She has been working as a tax associate since 2005 and specializes in deductions for artists, musicians, and other creative types while also offering tax and accounting techniques for the right brained. She truly enjoys encouraging folks to develop financial confidence, as well as reducing the anxieties associated with filing income taxes.
